The same numbers, a different view. Change the style in Design. Your values stay with you.
Make a free streamgraph to follow changing flows over time. Enter periods and layer values, then compare views or export the chart.
Watch listening habits change
The sample follows listening hours across six months. Electronic music grows toward summer while ambient listening falls. The whole stream widens when total listening rises; each colored layer shows one genre’s hours.
How to make a streamgraph
- Enter one period per row and one layer per value column, or paste a spreadsheet range.
- Keep Streamgraph to see the overall flow, or select Line or Stacked to compare values.
- Download a PNG or SVG for a slide or document, copy the embed code for a web page, or copy a link that reopens the chart with your data.
One period per row
Put periods in the first column and give each layer its own value column. For example:
| Month | Ambient | Jazz | Electronic |
|---|---|---|---|
| Jan | 40 | 22 | 18 |
| Feb | 38 | 24 | 22 |
| Mar | 32 | 28 | 28 |
Use 1–6 layers and 2–100 periods. Every cell needs a non-negative number. Leave a genuine zero as zero; choose Line if observations are missing.
Read thickness, not height
The silhouette baseline puts half of each period’s total above the center and half below. Layers keep their input order. Smooth curves preserve non-negative thicknesses and shared boundaries. Choose Straight in Design for straight segments. Hover or use the arrow keys for exact values and period shares.
When to choose another chart
Choose Line for exact values and comparisons between layers. Choose Stacked columns for period totals on a shared zero axis. The picker keeps the same data in all three views.
Is the streamgraph maker free?
Yes. Create and export without signing up. Free PNG, SVG and embeds carry the Meiku Charts mark; Pro removes it. You can edit the same data in all three views.
What data does a streamgraph need?
Use 1–6 layers and 2–100 periods. Every cell must contain a non-negative number. Missing values are rejected; use Line to retain gaps. Each row represents one period.
Can I change the layer order?
Layers follow your input column order. Editing values does not reorder them. Put the layer you want at the bottom in the first value column.
Can I hide a layer in the legend?
No. Hiding a layer would leave a misleading gap in the total. Hover over a layer to highlight it, or switch to Line for independent series controls.
