What is this column chart maker?
Meiku Charts' free column chart maker turns pasted labels and values into a live vertical bar chart with value labels and an optional goal line, ready to export as PNG or SVG or to embed.
How to make a column chart
- Paste your data, one label and one value per row, or load a CSV file.
- Add a goal line if you have a target and pick a theme; the columns redraw as you edit.
- Download a PNG or SVG for a slide or document, copy the embed code for a web page, or copy a link that reopens the chart with your data.
What is the difference between a column chart and a bar chart?
They show the same thing with a different direction. Columns stand vertically and suit time periods, such as months or years. Horizontal bars suit long category names and long lists, because the labels have room to sit on one line.
How many columns can one chart show clearly?
Around twelve columns stay easy to read on a phone. Past that the labels crowd and readers stop comparing. For long lists, switch to horizontal bars, or group the smallest categories into one column called Other.
Can I add a target or goal line to a column chart?
Yes. Turn on the target option, type the value and an optional label, and a dashed line crosses every column at that height, so readers see at a glance which columns reached the goal.
Is this free and private?
Yes. This maker builds column charts in your browser. Your chart data stays on your device, with no signup or maker usage limit. Free PNG and SVG exports carry a meikucharts.com mark; Free embeds keep the “Made with Meiku Charts” credit. Pro removes these marks and lets you choose your own credit line or no credit. Cloudflare Web Analytics measures anonymous page views, sets no cookies and never sees chart data. Pro license checks are explained in our Privacy policy.
How do I activate Pro?
Copy your Pro key from the Polar customer portal using your checkout email address, then enter it in your account and select “Activate Pro”. For clean exports in another browser, select “Use Pro in this browser”. Follow How to turn on Pro for websites, exports and the AI connector.
How do I embed the chart on my own page?
Click “Copy embed” to copy a script tag plus a <live-chart> element carrying
your current spec as JSON. Paste it into any HTML page and the chart renders live — no build
step required. The embed loads one hosted file from meikucharts.com.
Can I export the chart as an image?
Yes. “Download PNG” renders the current chart onto an offscreen canvas at 2x resolution and downloads it — useful for slides, docs, or anywhere embedding live HTML isn’t practical.
