What does a scatter plot show?
A scatter plot shows each reading as a separate dot instead of a joined line, so clusters, outliers and the spread of the values stand out. This maker places one dot per value above its label; a second value column adds a second series to compare point by point.
When should I use a scatter plot instead of a line graph?
Use a scatter plot when each reading stands on its own (samples, runs, repeated measurements) and a connecting line would suggest a trend that isn't there. Use a line graph when the readings form one continuous sequence, such as days or years.
Does a scatter plot prove that one thing causes another?
No. A scatter plot only shows a pattern in the readings. A third factor can drive both, or the pattern can be chance, so treat a clear trend as a question to investigate rather than proof.

Free PNG and SVG exports carry a meikucharts.com mark; Free embeds keep the “Made with Meiku Charts” credit. Pro removes these marks and lets you choose your own credit line or no credit. How do I activate Pro?
Copy your Pro key from the Polar customer portal using your checkout email address, then enter it in your account and select “Activate Pro”. For clean exports in another browser, select “Use Pro in this browser”. Follow How to turn on Pro for websites, exports and the AI connector.
How do I embed the chart on my own page?
Click “Copy embed” to copy a script tag plus a <live-chart> element carrying
your current spec as JSON. Paste it into any HTML page and the chart renders live — no build
step required. The embed loads one hosted file from meikucharts.com.
Can I export the chart as an image?
Yes. “Download PNG” renders the current chart onto an offscreen canvas at 2x resolution and downloads it — useful for slides, docs, or anywhere embedding live HTML isn’t practical.
