What is this bar graph maker?
Meiku Charts' free bar graph maker turns pasted labels and values into a live horizontal bar or vertical column chart, with sorting and an optional target line, ready to export or embed.
How to make a bar graph
- Paste your data, one label and one value per row, or load a CSV file.
- Choose bars or columns, sort the largest first if order doesn't matter, and add a target line if you have a goal.
- Download a PNG or SVG for a slide or document, copy the embed code for a web page, or copy a link that reopens the chart with your data.
What is the difference between a bar chart and a histogram?
A bar chart compares separate categories, such as products or countries, so its bars can be sorted and have gaps between them. A histogram shows how one set of numbers is spread across ranges, so its bars touch and stay in numeric order.
Should a bar graph always start at zero?
Yes. A bar's length is its value, so cutting the axis makes small differences look huge. That is why this maker always starts bars at zero. If you need to show small changes, a line or dot chart is the honest choice.
How do I turn an Excel sheet into a bar chart?
Select the label and value columns in Excel or Google Sheets, copy them, and paste them into this maker. The bar chart appears at once, and you can then sort it, theme it and export it as PNG or SVG.
Is this free and private?
Yes. This maker builds bar and column charts in your browser. Your chart data stays on your device, with no signup or maker usage limit. Free PNG and SVG exports carry a meikucharts.com mark; Free embeds keep the “Made with Meiku Charts” credit. Pro removes these marks and lets you choose your own credit line or no credit. Cloudflare Web Analytics measures anonymous page views, sets no cookies and never sees chart data. Pro license checks are explained in our Privacy policy.
How do I activate Pro?
Copy your Pro key from the Polar customer portal using your checkout email address, then enter it in your account and select “Activate Pro”. For clean exports in another browser, select “Use Pro in this browser”. Follow How to turn on Pro for websites, exports and the AI connector.
How do I embed the chart on my own page?
Click “Copy embed” to copy a script tag plus a <live-chart> element carrying
your current spec as JSON. Paste it into any HTML page and the chart renders live — no build
step required. The embed loads one hosted file from meikucharts.com.
Can I export the chart as an image?
Yes. “Download PNG” renders the current chart onto an offscreen canvas at 2x resolution and downloads it — useful for slides, docs, or anywhere embedding live HTML isn’t practical.
